noMNOM..time to eat the phone and be calm like this.

Answering the phone is just a fraction of this step. I call this step::::::::::

THE INTERVIEW!!!!!!

For some of us, this might be our first interview we have ever been to! And it can be scary and overwhelming. Fear of not knowing what is going to happen! Well no worries. It's actually not that scary. Just get yourself prepared. And It is almost impossible to fail.

What to prepare:
1) All the original documents which you photocopied before. Put in a proper file. Organise well. Doesn't matter what file. Better the ones you can put on by one and don't need for them to take them out one by one. The clear file.
2) Bring photocopies of the original documents.
3) Bring a picture and a glue. Or bring a friend who has a glue :P
After prepare your things. Knowledge! Prepare you knowledge.

Things to read on :
Non-Medical stuff:
1) Knowing those in charge in Ministry of Health. Remember their "pangkat" Like our minister now, YB. Datuk Seri S. Subramaniam. Remember until the director and secretary too.
2) Knowing what campaign the ministry is doing. Even those on TV. Just get familiar with it. At least know one.
3) Know the MOH's logo and moto. Just roughly. If you don't know also wont harm you.

Medical stuff:
1) Tropical diseases. Know what are they. Prepare at least a few in  your head which you know from definition to treatment. Examples: Dengue, Malaria
2)Prepare other Communicable and non-communicable diseases. Same as above. Prepare at least a few. Know from definition till treatment.
3) Be aware of what diseases are currently a problem in Malaysia and World Wide.

What else to prepare?
Wear something appropriate.

Like this. Remember you are what you dress to be. Dress like a professional doctor!!

When i was there this is how it went:
The night before: STRESS LEI!!! Feel head going to explode to do so much revision. Tips: Start earlier ok???????? Don't be stupid.

I went there around 8 something. Went to the WRONG building. There are 2 SPA buildings. anyways. was there at 8am, prepared my documents then went up at 9. Thinking it was still early! BUT i was late! The man on the phone told me to come at 10. Interview was at 9 instead! I was late. I quickly filled up the form they gave. Haven't finished the man called me there to pass up documents. i did that. as i sat down to finish off my form, the number rang. My friend said, hey! that's you!! go go..! I was like huh? so fast meh?! oh no!!! I quickly got up and went to the door. There were 2 rooms. Room L & M. I was "M" Knocked on the door, someone opened it. Another guy. just like me. As i enter, room was bright. I was 2 ladies seated there infront of me. One from SPA another a doctor. They look friendly. Gave my form to them including the file with the original documents in it. The other fellow, he was panicking. As he havent prepared his documents. He was still searching and taking out each and every documents out. And he found out he left his SPM cert. The ladies were super nice. They said, tak apa apa. So in the room 2 vs 2. There was another chair there. I guess another one havent entered yet. Knock knock. Another person. Someone i knew! Okay and we are complete. There were 3 of us. and 2 interviewers.
1) Introduce yourself. Doesn't matter english or bm.
2)Why do you want to be a doctor?
3) Why pick that university?
4) All there of us were from indonesian universities, they asked what's the difference between the education system in indonesia and malaysia??
5) What specialisation you wanna take and why? I said emergency medicine, they asked to explain about ATLS.
6) what campaign on tv have you seen done by ministry of health??
7) Explain a bit about diabetes? ( Another person was asked about this, as he said he wanted to be an Internist)
DONE! Was so quick. Nothing to worry right? They wont scold you if you dont know. Most questions they asked were general logic questions. I went out. that was it. In the other room, they asked about Osteoperosis, ATLS, Compartment Syndrome. Things we never expect. Don't worry if you don't know. It's okay. Nothing to be scared. Won't fail you la.. These interviews are just a formality!
Don't worry the hard part is done:

Done & survived with medical school! Almost there!!!!

GOOD LUCK!!

Horse Shampoo

Good Morning! It's a splendid morning! And I have nothing better to do than do this! So, I have decided to do a review! I have plenty of time to spend and some random stuff lying here and there. WHY NOT. Right?

Here I have something I read about few years back, seen it on tv and thought it was ridiculous. Something simple, but one word caught my attention. It's " Horse Shampoo".  YES HORSE, KUDA.

You heard it right the first time, we need borrow your shampoo please.

I'm only trying it now as it was pretty hard to find! Finally I found it in Guardian Plus+ in Singapore. Price was much cheaper than I thought. It's only around 16 SGD. When you convert to Malaysian Ringgit ya it is more expensive than those normal shampoos out there BUT it's one to the cheapest shampoo in that store I saw it. Anyways, you can say, I didnt have an opened mind few years back. I thought, what  is wrong with these people??!!! Horse shampoo?? We ran out of shampoo that we have to take horse punya shampoo? Seriously guys. What is next? Your pet's shampoo? =/ At first I was skeptical and thinking these celebrities just want attention.

Of course! The famous horse lady herself uses it too! Miss Sarah Jessica Parker!

This horse seems extra happy with the shampoo. Maybe we should give it a try? =P Humanswhatareyouthinking!

 Say WHAT?

It says it can " GENTLY CLEAN YOUR HAIR, LEAVES HAIR SHINY, SILKY AND HEALTHY LOOKING, PREVENTS BREAKAGE, SPLIT ENDS, FORTOFIES AND STRENGTHENS HAIR!" Sounds like other shampoo right? How can horse shampoo be " Gentle".I read some reviews that it can actually turn your hair BLUE or some other colour. ( MAde me think twice trying this. I don't want look like Papa Smurf==)

Wow PINK HORSE! EFFECT OF HORSE SHAMPOO?

BUT. Of course there was a reason for the crazy hype about it. It's REALLY GOOD! I have been using it for  a month now. We all know that to have good hair you need 1) Healthy body, sudden weight loss can cause your hair to fall and look "sick", certain vitamin and mineral deficiencies can cause hair to look unhealthy as well, like Iron, vitamin B etc. 3) Good water! Definitely, If you have super good shampoo also BUT your water that you're using is full of chlorine and heavy metal, it's really damaging to the hair. I was in Medan for 6 years. I think the water in my hostel isn't that good. Everytime after washing my hair, felt like my hair was heavier and there was no squeaky clean feeling. I had horrible hair loss. And everytime after I wash my hair somewhere else like back home in Malaysia, hair falls less. I concluded it was the water that's making my hair fall=/. Anyway back to the shampoo: It's called Mane and Tail. I am not sure if they reallt use it on horses. Maybe the other brands do. I think it's the same company who makes horse shampoo? I don't think they really use it on horses. Not sure. They are a few of other brands of horse shampoo. But this is the most famour one i guess. It comes with a conditioner. I left it in KL.( drat*) But says behind it, used for horses as well as humans. haha@@ Anyway: The shampoo is slight have a hint of blue colour in it. Smells "vanilla'-ish". Really thick consistency. Challenging to use! Need mix it with a lot of water to dilute it or else. A clump of shampoo will be in that part of your head only.
MANE AND TAIL. "Man And Horses"? Herbal Gro? Sorry about the flash. Just making sure it's clear.
Secret to beautifully horse like hair!

It doesnt really look blue here. I am a bit colour blind ^^" It seemed a bit blue/ purple. Very lightly though. Has that metallic shine it in.

I don't know whether it's fortifying my hair or actually preventing breakage or split ends as it claims to do. It does strenghtens it. My hair falls less. And i doesn't weight down your hair. Really good for oily scalps like mine. After you rinse off, gives that squeaky feeling. Because it leaves your hair less oily, hair falls less I guess?Gives superb volume after every wash. Does it make your hair grow faster? I doubt that. I am really happy with this product! 5/5!!! ***** Just the problem is, where do i get this in Kuching, Sarawak!??? =/

How to Register for Housemanship in Malaysia!

Greetings! It's April Fool. Victimised my first victim already. :D and my day can go on happily..anyways.. as all of you might have heard some of us has finally graduated! How awesome is that?! Super awesome I would say. It wasn't what I imagined though. Far from it. A year from the big day, I had image in my mind how the last day would go. Simple yet happy day. Maybe a bottle of champagne to celebrate during our last department. NO there were no such things. The last day became a dreadful dateline everyone need to catch. and most of us couldn't. Even if some of us could make the dateline. Our hearts were heavy, as maybe our friends didnt get it. And opening a bottle of champagne is just well, not a right thing to do. Either way, we made it anyway! Congratulations to everyone. And remember for those who are still studying, it's not the destination but the journey itself.

The Aftermath.

For those medical students who have just graduated. It's time to come home!! And enjoy your long holiday!!! But don't forget you have some more stuff to settle! It can be quite confusing on what to do!What's next? Do we need to register anywhere and where???? It was a big blur for me. And there was no clear instructions which were reliable enough to follow. Here's a rough guideline:

Where we need to register?

1. Malaysia Medical Council ( MMC)

2. Ministry of Health ( MOH) a.k.a Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia ( KKM)

3. Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Awan (SPA)

First Step: Registering to MMC!
1. Preparing documents:( Reference and can download forms from here:  MMC FORM CLICK HERE

The following documents need to be submitted by ALL applicants :

1.Provisional Registration Application Form (Form 4)
2. Appendix A Form
3. An original Dean’s Letter or a certified true copy of basic medical degree
(Please specify date of graduate if not indicated in any of the document).
4.A result transcripts covering the WHOLE course/study duration
(Local public university graduates are exempted).
5. A passport-sized photograph.
6. A RM20  bank draft can  get from banks or post offices written for:  ‘The Registrar of Medical Practitioners’.
7. If the original documents are not in either Bahasa Malaysia or English:
         a.  Translated documents
         b. Certified copies of the document in its original language.
8. Fitness to practice declaration form.

The following additional documents to be submitted by Malaysians only:
1. A certified true copy of an identity card.
2. A certified true copy of a birth certificate.
3. A certified true copy of SPM or offer letter from SPA,
whichever applicable.

The following additional documents to be submitted by Indian University Graduates only:
1. A certified true copy of a Student Bonafide Certificate
2. A certified true copy of Rotating Internship Certificate.

If you graduate from Indonesia Universities just like me then you will need:
1. A certified true copy of Sijil Kedokteran (S.KED).
2. A certified true copy of Ijazah Kedokteran (Ijazah Profesi Dokter).

Who can certify our stuff??!
Reference and more info from  here: Documents certification Info CLICK HERE =)
a. Public officials holding administrative and professional posts;
b. Advocates and solicitors;
c. Commissioner for Oaths;
d. Notary Public;
e.     Embassy or Consulate officials holding administrative and professional posts; and
f. Justice of the Peace.
Tips: There's a Methodist girl's school nearby MMC! Can get their help to certify and chop our stuff. They are super friendly and helpful. And didnt ask any questions!! In forms you need someone as your "saksi". Make sure you remember to find a saksi like those people who certify our stuff also can  be our "saksi" and get their chop. Remember certify all documents as well as the form! The last page requires us to certify it. And you are set to pass up your stuff! And remember as well. You need to certify ALL the pages in your transcript.

The form that needed to be sent to MMC looks something like this.

Alrighty! Once you submitted you probably need half a day or a day to get your temporary MMC registration documents with the MMc. reg. no. You will need this number to apply  for your interview!

Step 2: Going to Ministry of Health ( MOH)
This is in putrajaya! Before coming here you need to prepare:
1. the exact documents as before. All documents make sure you have certified
2. and fill up the form! MOH FORM CLICK HERE!! =) in this form, you will need fill up 3 hospitals of your choice. There are about 40+ choices! So, choose wisely!!
MOH FORM FOR HO and MOs!

Hospital list! This is such a headache!!!!! 41 choices!

Third Step : SPA!!!
This is just nearby MOH. Same building. Same floor. Easy only. No worries la. People are super friendly too! Just go there, fill up your form. Without your MMC registration number, this is not possible to do. Done? Make sure put a number that's always active! For they will call you for your interview. Next? Sit and chill =D and GOOD LUCK!!!
NOTE: Oh ya! Once you done with SPA, remember to do online registration too!!! If not, they wont schedule your interview =/ Doesnt mean when you done with manual registration you dont need do online registration. Need to do that too!

What's Next???

It's been 2 roughly 2 weeks since I packed my bags, left my hostel in Jl. dr. Mansyur No. 3A in Medan, said my goodbyes knowing things wont be the same. I didnt let myself to be emotional, waved, and climbed into a cab, and off I went to the airport. It was quite a journey. I didn't prepare for this. In the cab I had a headache, not sure because I didnt eat or because of something else. I tried to sleep. But couldn't. The journey to Kuala Namu was shorter than expected.
Here I am, going back for good. What is next?! This thought gave me the creeps! I had a panic attack! OMG. After 8 years, I am going back to Kuching for good.  New room. New People. New Life. Can't be controlled. What am I going to do for next few weeks or months?! What is going to happen. Nobody knows. That is what that scares me. I had sleeping problems. Eating problems. Home wasn't home anymore. It felt unfamiliar.
Sorry everyone, I short circuited these few weeks!

Let's come back to the present.
I am back in Kuching after a short trip from Medan, Singapore. I do feel better. I am now a doctor. Do I feel any different? Should I send my patients warnings?? I don't wana kill anyone. HAHA. i am so dead T.T ANYWAY, getting used to the idea of going back to Kuching. But not quite ready to work there!!! I wanna be far far away! What should I do? Does anyone have this same problem like me? @@
Hoping to find peace & happiness <3
